Welcome to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Court Services Bureau. Thank you for taking the time to view our website.
Our bureau is comprised of the Bailiff Services Division and the Civil Division. These two divisions provide a service to the community that is deeply entrenched within the Office of the Sheriff. The delivery of civil process and the attendance of all courts is one of the basic functions of the Office of Sheriff dating back to old England. Florida State Statutes direct that the Sheriff’s of the state in person or by deputy shall execute all process of the Supreme Court, Circuit Courts, County Courts and Boards of County Commissioners of this state and attend all terms of the Circuit Court and County Court held in their counties and execute such other writs, processes and papers directed to them.
The Bailiff Services Division is responsible for the security of the courtrooms and judiciary, the custody and security of all inmates that are transported to the judicial center for trials, or hearings and the safety of the public attending court sessions.
The Civil Division serves civil and criminal process throughout the county. This could involve the service of a criminal witness subpoena, service of Injunctions for Protection, or enforcing a Writ of Possession which is the end result of the eviction process. All service of process is done pursuant to the State of Florida statutes and civil process fee schedule established by Florida law.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Major Kerry Crawford
