MCBCC 2013-2014 Budget Review Committee Recomendations
Each year, the Chairman of the Marion County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) meets with the Constitutional Officers (CO) prior to any parties submitting a budget request for consideration. This meeting traditionally aims to review the current budget status, as well as the following fiscal year’s projected revenues in preparation for budget submittals. This year, the meeting occurred on March 14, 2013, where all in attendance acknowledged the direction from Chairman Bryant to hold budgets flat with no increase to the millage rates. The consensus of the group was that our local economy is recovering, but that this is not the time to raise taxes and take money out of the local economy.
