SUSPECT CAUGHT ON TAPE SMASHING STORE WINDOW
 


At this hour, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office needs your help in catching a burglary suspect. Security video shows a suspect picking up a brick, smashing the front door glass and grabbing a trash can. The suspect is wearing what appears to be a white T-shirt around his head, a white pullover jacket and blue jeans. The suspect is using the trash can bag to carry more than $900 dollars worth of cigarettes from the Sonny BP Gas Station at 2965 S.E. 58th Avenue, Ocala.

This commercial burglary took place around 2:22 a.m., Friday, September 25, 2009. Investigators say the suspect is a male and he left the scene, going east and making his way to a vacant house, where a vehicle may have been waiting for him.

The store manager says 12 cartons of Marlboro and 7 cartons of Newport News cigarettes were stolen. The value of the cigarettes equaled $931.
