Marion County Sheriff’s Office employees have partnered with a local church to host a community yard sale Saturday, October 3, 2009 to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. We encourage citizens to visit Wings of Faith Fellowship, 5066 SE 64th Avenue Road, Ocala between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Vendor spaces are still available to rent and 100% of the rental fees will benefit breast cancer. Anyone interested in renting a space, please contact Pat Stefanski at 369-8136 or Wendy Blaznik at 368-3576.
Some facts about breast cancer:
• Breast cancer affects one in every eight women in the United States.
• In 2008, 250,230 new cases of breast cancer were discovered.
• For women in the U.S., breast cancer is the 2nd leading cancer-related cause of death,
following lung cancer.
• As of 2008, there are about 2.5 million women in the U.S. who have survived breast
cancer.
