MAN WANTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER, NOW IN MARION COUNTY JAIL

Jermaine Douglas Brown, wanted for attempted second degree murder, is now in the Marion County Jail. Brown, 27, turned himself in today to a Marion County Sheriff’s Office detective. Brown will face charges in the shooting of Bernard Holsey, 34, who was shot Thursday (Oct. 8, 2009) in Reddick.

Brown had been on the run since the shooting, which involved the victim taking a bullet in the right side of his back, being placed in the bed of a pickup truck, taken to a fire station in Lowell, where an emergency helicopter took Holsey to Shands, a hospital in Gainesville.

Investigators learned Brown and Holsey were feuding. It’s not clear the reasons behind the feud.

Brown’s bond is $50,000.
