On Saturday, 08-01-09, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to 5447 NW 185th Street in Orange Lake after receiving a report of a shooting. An investigation revealed two suspects forcibly entered the residence at gunpoint and held two victims inside the home while they searched for money and other valuables. During the incident, the homeowner, Robert Jamerson, came home and interrupted the intruders. The suspects shot and killed Robert before shooting his brother, Terrance Jamerson, who was with him. Terrance survived his injuries.
Detectives interviewed witnesses who reported a suspicious vehicle in the area prior to the home invasion. While investigating that vehicle, detectives identified two suspects from South Florida who were in the area of Orange Lake the night of the incident.
On Wednesday, 10-14-09, the Sheriff’s Office confirmed that physical evidence collected by evidence technicians from the scene connected one of the suspects, Jolgar Desir Jr., to the shooting. On 10-16-09, an arrest warrant was issued for Desir and on 10-19-09, detectives interviewed him and took him into custody.

imprisonment and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
The investigation remains ongoing. Officials are continuing to analyze additional physical evidence submitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). Anyone with information regarding this incident or persons involved is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 732-9111 or Crime Stoppers to receive a reward of up to $1,000.
