Marion County Sheriff’s Office detectives file charges against three people for an early morning beating of a 75 year-old man. Investigators say, this beating took place 5:30 a.m., Thursday, November 12, 2009, along the 12,000 block of S.E. 130th Court, Ocklawaha (in the Southeastern sector of Marion County). Right now, sitting in the Marion County Jail are:
Tianne M. James, 30, facing charges of armed home invasion robbery; aggravated battery; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. James’ bond is set at $115,000.
Dwayne A. Holston, 29, facing charges of armed home invasion; aggravated battery; possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Holston’s bond is $95,000.
Also, involved, but not in jail:
Joseph Richardson, 33, facing a charge of dealing in stolen property. Richardson was (ROR) released on own recognizance.
Investigators learned that James and Holston, knocked on the victim’s door, just before daybreak, entered the home and started beating the victim. The suspects took both money and a 12-gauge shotgun. When James and Holston left and got into a car, Richardson was driving… the victim dragged himself in to the bathroom, pulled himself up a phone and called 911. It took nearly 20 staples to close the injuries to the victim’s head. He was taken to the Villages Hospital for treatment.
