Welcome to the Special Investigations Bureau. The Bureau was created to handle complex multi-jurisdictional investigations and intelligence gathering on suspected drug dealers, vice operations and acts of terrorism.

The Special Investigations Bureau is comprised of four major divisions, Major Crimes, Drug Enforcement, Sexual Offender/Predator and Evidence Divisions.

Major Crimes consists of the Homicide & Sexual Assault Unit, Cargo Theft Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and The Fraud Unit.

The Drug Enforcement Division is comprised of HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) and UDEST (Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team) agents.

The Evidence Division consists of the Forensics Unit, DNA Screening Lab, Property & Disposals and Latents.

All Major Crimes detectives work very closely with outside agencies such as the Medical Examiner’s Office, Children’s Advocacy Center, Children & Family Services, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Fire Marshal, State Attorney’s Office and other local, state and national law enforcement agencies.
