The following Guiding Strategies help the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to achieve excellence and accomplish its mission through the strategic planning process.
Keeping cost of service to our citizens low. As our population increases, we must continue to provide quality service while being mindful of our fiscal responsibility to our citizens.
Increasing the crime clearance rate. We strive to improve our ability to solve the crimes that have occurred and bring resolution to the case for the victims of crimes.
Lowering the crime rate. We want to proactively create a condition in our county through community policing which not only solves crime, but actually reduces the number of crimes committed in proportion to our population.
Keeping the costs for housing and care of inmates low. We are tasked with the care and custody of inmates that are sentenced and those that are awaiting trial. We continuously balance our legal obligation of care for the inmates with the desire to be fiscally conservative by using innovation to reduce costs.
