BAILIFF SERVICES
The Bailiff Unit maintains courtroom decorum and protocol while providing protection to citizens, judges, and jurors during trials and hearings. Bailiffs are also responsible for maintaining custody over inmates. In 2022, the bailiffs provided security to over 58,146 court cases, 13,055 inmates, and processed over 600 remands and warrant arrests.
Additionally, the Bailiff Unit acts as a liaison between the Judicial Assistants, Clerk’s Office, and the Marion County Jail to coordinate and create court schedules for Circuit, Civil, and County Courts.
