SHERIFF’S TELEPHONE AUTOMATED REPORTING SYSTEM (S.T.A.R.)

The Sheriff’s Telephone Automated Reporting System (S.T.A.R.) provides the function of allowing deputies and detectives to phone in or email a report to an operator directly from the field. The S.T.A.R. Division is comprised of 16 Operators, 1 Supervisor and 1 Manager. An operator’s daily duties consist of data entry, including live dictation, and accurate coding of crime data. All Operators must have an excellent grammar and spelling skillset and the ability to handle confidential information. One major goal of the S.T.A.R. Division is to reduce the amount of time a deputy/detective spends on paperwork.
