OPERATIONAL SUPPORT BUREAU
The Operational Support Bureau is comprised of the Courthouse Division, Juvenile Division and Special Operations Division. Each division has various assigned units. Major Brian Dotten oversees the entire Bureau.
The Courthouse Division is commanded by Captain Michelle Wissinger. This division is responsible for the Bailiff Unit and the Civil Process Unit.
The Juvenile Division is commanded by Captain Dennis Joiner. This division is responsible for School Resource Officers (SRO), the Work in Lieu of Arrest (WILA) Program and Crisis Intervention Services (CIS).
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has many Specialty Units under the Special Operations Division, which is overseen by Captain Brian Spivey. This division includes units such as: Bike Unit, Bomb Squad, Crisis Negotiations Team, Field Force Team, and the Marine Unit/Underwater Recovery Team. Full-time Specialty Units include: Agriculture Unit, Aviation Unit, Fugitive Apprehension Unit, K-9 Unit, and the Traffic Unit. The Sheriff’s Office also maintains a Reserve Unit, a Mounted Unit, and the Honor Guard.
