GRANTS
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has a Grants Coordinator who seeks out opportunities for federal and state monies available to local law enforcement for varying equipment and training. These monies help to train and purchase much needed equipment to help eliminate the need for additional staff which reduces the tax burden on the citizens of Marion County. Our agency seeks out grants that will accomplish these financial goals without placing any long term obligations upon the agency. Along with doing grant research to find new grant opportunities, the Grants Coordinator works closely with each division/unit that has grant funds available to them. The goal is to keep them informed on available funds and on track to spend any unspent funds before the grant funding cycle ends. Each grant has specific reimbursement guidelines resulting in several financial and performance reports to be completed on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
